Local Ministry

Why is Open Door Here? –  5 Key Areas form the basis of what we do as a church: Communicating God’s   Word (Evangelism), Celebrating God’s presence (Worship), Incorporating God’s Family (Fellowship), Educating God’s Family (Discipleship), and demonstrating God’s Love (Ministry).

Used Clothing Shed – We have partnered with St. Pauly to collect used clothes to help the needy both locally, in the US, and in developing countries around the world.

Keystone Mission – We have partnered with the Keystone Mission here in Scranton to help feed and clothe the homeless and needy in our area.

Options Women’s Center – We have partnered with the center reaching women in unplanned pregnancy at their point of need and providing alternatives to abortion – offering options.

Gideons International – We have partnered with the Gideons to provide Bibles for Hotels, Schools, Jails and Hospitals.

National & Global Ministry

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

America – As a part of the Liberty Church Network we are involved in planting Christ centered Bible based churches all across the United States.

Africa – Partnering with Colin and Teena Ovenell and Faith Baptist Missions we are involved in both  Planting Churches and Medical Missions in Benin, Africa.

Forgotten People – There are people all around the world who do not have a written language. We have partnered with Bethany Boston and Baptist Mid Missions to reach out to those people and work on putting their language in writing with the goal of producing a Bible in their language.

Romans 10:13–17 (ESV)

13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Colossians 1:28–29 (ESV)

28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.
